Mission

Values

The Cyber Defense Club was established in the fall of 2018 by three seniors in Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Cyber Intelligence and Security Degree Program. 

From the start, students competed in national competitions including the National Cyber League (NCL), Department of Energy CyberForce Competition, National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC), and participated in Hackathons. In the Spring of 2019, sixteen students attended the RSA Conference where multiple students met recruiters and were given internships/job offers!

During the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 school year, students had scored in the top 1% in the National Cyber League in addition to attending the Automotive ISAC Summit!

​To develop and train the next generation of cybersecurity professionals by attending national conferences and participating in cybersecurity competitions. Support students in cybersecurity research and professional development to better prepare them for future opportunities. Collaborate with industry professionals on projects and work directly with recruiters to provide the best candidates by catering the training to better prepare students for positions.

Collaboration: Student and industry collaboration fosters critical skill development.

Dependability/Responsibility: Cybersecurity professionals require a mature and strong work ethic to combat the threats faced in the world.

Cybersecurity Adaptability: Students participate in labs that require them to adapt to new situations efficiently and effectively.

Self-Motivation: Students learn how to be self-motivated and practice work-life balance to prevent burnout.

Professionalism: Students are held to the highest standards when representing Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
